Module 4 — Discipline & Reliability

Discipline has been talked about so loosely in trading that the word has moved away from real understadning into something more vague. the reality is discipline is a symptom rather than a cause. Here it is defined narrowly and behaviourally: the rate at which your actions match your stated plan, measured rather than felt.

Reliability is being able to not only have the same idea extended over time but striving for consistency in behviour ie.e repeatability in not only actions but more importantly results.

Identify the three key confidences in trading decision making that will influence every aspect of compliance and performance.
Review the threats to self-efficacy and identify those which may resonate with you.
Consider the evolution of trading confidence and, in light of where you are now, decide what to work on next.

By the end of this unit you will:

Understand the broad terms applied to measurement.
Recognise the critical nature, for long-term success, of developing trading reliability.

Unit 26

Trading Reliability (2) — Taking Action

By the end of this unit you will:

Convert an intention to improve reliability into a specific, scheduled action.
Identify the conditions under which your own reliability tends to drop.
Recognise the difference between a considered change of plan and an in-the-moment deviation.

Unit 27

Trading Cycles

By the end of this unit you will:

Understand the potentially cyclical nature of trading confidence and behaviour.
List what may positively contribute to a virtuous trading cycle, and commit to these going forward.
